The theme of our 2026 Summer Reading Program is, "A Summer of Sails and Tales". Every book you read this summer is a treasure chest waiting to be unlocked. Join us to map out your reading goals and discover oceans of fun along the way!

Your Summer Reading Adventure Log
Adventure logs are available at the library starting on June 26th, the day of our Summer Reading Kickoff. For every 30 minutes you read, you can move one square on the path. Every time you get to a treasure chest you can stop by the library to select a prize! Completing the entire log will get you three prizes and an entry to win our grand prize.

Bubble Party Kickoff
Friday, June 26th, 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
Our summer reading program begins with our Bubble Party Kickoff on Friday, June 26th from 10:30 to 12:30 pm here at the library. We will have lawn games, crafts, and of course, lots of bubbles.
It is also an opportunity to pick up your Carver Memorial Library Summer Reading Kit and Adventure Log. The further you get on our adventure log, the more prizes you earn!

Lego Boat Building
Friday, July 17th, 11:30 am - 2:00 pm
Put your engineering skills to the test and build the ultimate Lego boat at the library. Once your colorful creation is complete, we'll test to see if it sinks or sails. After, take your boat home with you for more adventures!
Family Bingo and Pizza
Tuesday, July 28th, 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Come celebrate your summer reading goals with a fun-filled family night at the library. We will provide the pizza and the bingo cards - you just bring your winning spirit! Eat great food, laugh together, and play for a chance to win prizes. This event is free and open to all!
Frogtown Mountain Puppeteers Presents: Everybody Loves Pirates
Saturday, August 15th, Show starts at 1:30 pm at Union Hall, the Searsport town office, 1 Union St., on the second floor
Eight-year-old Lucy and her goofy pal Little Chucky are searching for buried treasure, but a gang of bumbling pirates keeps getting in the way! The kids get some help from their new ocean-dwelling friends, including enthusiastic superhero Lobster Boy, his reluctant sidekick Crabby, and an overgrown sea monkey.
“Everybody Loves Pirates” features 15 hand-crafted mouth and rod puppets, and an eight-foot paper-mache pirate ship.
This show will be held at Union Hall, the Searsport Town Office, on the second floor. The address is 1 Union St. Searsport, ME. The recommended age for this show is four and up. Seating is first come first serve, no sign up required.
After the event head over to the library for free ice cream, snacks, and lawn games. We will also be announcing our summer reading grand prize winners!
