Decorate Searsport: a community art project
Monday November 30 to December 18.
A partnership with the Penobscot Marine Museum. You can participate in a variety of ways!
Take a historic photo and digitally “decorate” it or print it out and color on decorations. Draw and color a festive version of your house or a Searsport building. Or you can make and decorate a 3D paper Searsport building.
You can download the the images on this page or pick up printouts at the Carver Memorial Library starting Monday November 30. You can even decorate your house for Christmas and take a picture of it!
This project counts as an activity toward the Carver Memorial Library's Searsport badge, which is open to all ages, including adults.
You can also share your project on social media with the hashtag #artwallsearsport. Connect with others on the Facebook event here.
However you decide to create your project, you can submit it by taking and emailing a photo, emailing your digital file, or dropping off your physical project at Carver Memorial Library. (If you would like your physical project back after the display, please make sure your name and contact information are on the back. Digital submissions can be sent to Sue at director@carverlibrary.org or Jeana at jganskop@pmm-maine.org. Digital submissions will be printed out and all submissions will be displayed in the Penobscot Marine Museum Main Street windows at 40 E. Main St! The window display will begin December 18th.
